2eNetWorX/dev site itself is a project as well. Because we believe in continous progress, this site will be developed in an OpenSource manner. Now you can download the full site and run it on your server. Project documentation and code library development is in continious progress.

Introduction

This software is distributed with General Public License which is included in the releases.

If you modify the program, you are encouraged to notify the copyright holder in the case that your contribution might be included in the next release along with your contributor credits.

File Descriptions

dev-2.1-core.zip Required ASP Scripts

The core part of the site, includes all the asp files and images.

dev-2.1-db.zip Required Database Files

All the databases required to run the site, including stats, projects, feedback, samples, users and minisurvey.

dev-2.1-cm.zip Recommended Content Manager

Content manager to administer the site contents, actually includes TableEditoR and MiniSurvey.

dev-2.1-live.zip Optional Live examples

Live examples of the asp projects listed on the site.

dev-2.1-db97.zip Optional Access 97 Databases

Access 97 versions of the databases.

Currently 2eNetWorX/dev site is designed to run in a folder "/dev" under the root of your website. Databases should be in a folder called "data" under root folder.

Step by Step Installation

1. Download the required files.

2. Make a backup of your own site(s) before attempting to install.

2. Create two folders under the root of your webserver, "dev" and "data". (By default, the folders should be in "\InetPub\wwwRoot" for IIS and PWS)

3. Copy the global.asa (in dev-2.1-core.zip) to the root folder. (This step might be skipped if you don't want to count Active Users.) You may already have a file called global.asa there, but you should have backed it up :)

4. Extract the contents of dev-2.1-core.zip file into the "dev" folder

5. Extract the contents of dev-2.1-db.zip file into the "data" folder

6. If you want to install content management, extract dev-2.1-cm.zip into "dev/cm" folder.

7. If you want to install live examples, extract dev-2.1-live.zip into "dev/live" folder.

8. That's it! Enjoy!
(You may view the site at "http://server/dev" where "server" is the computer name for web server. If content management is installed, "http://server/dev/cm" for administration.)

Issues and Condiderations

1. Currently you need to install on http://server/dev.
2. Default page is assumed to be index.asp
3. eMail component is assumed to be JMail. (A Free personal copy is available at http://www.dimac.net)
