Being a lot more powerful than a simple page counter or a web site hit tracker, StatCounteX features detailed visitor statistics using ASP and an Access database. You may read the article Statisticus for advanced discussions on website statistics. Note that StatCounteX is not a raw web log file analyzer, it collects its own data, analyzes it and generates realtime usage reports. By executing SQL queries on the collected data, StatCounteX generates the following statistics reports: Individual Statistics: Detailed Web Site Statistics: Graphical Reports: Detailed Visitor Statistics: * Reports can be viewed for all collected data, or filtered by year, month, week, day, hour, or day of week. Credits I would like to thank to the following contributors:Kevin Yochum, who upgraded the StatCounteX from 2.0 to 3.0. (He also contributed many improvements to TableEditoR.) Without him, version 3.0 of StatCounteX wouldn't be possible. All the additions and modifications for version 3.0 is made by him, thanks again Kevin! You are the man!. StatCounteX is powered by contributors for this new update to 3.1. Don Lasseigne added a great month calendar to the reports, and fixed the "yesterday" issue. FlipDaMusic added support for web based administration for the configuration switches. Rami Kattan added support for reporting WinME and Netscape 6.x, and "All" link to Top10 referers and views. How the StatCounteX WorX? The basic idea behind StatCounteX is to use an image as a counter. You will add the counter code provided into the files which you want to track website stats. StatCounteX 3.1 features Data Normalization to minimize the storage required to save the collected data in the database. For more information on Data Normalization, read the Part 5 of the Statisticus article. Upgrading from version 3.0 to 3.1 In 3.1 release, there's a file called upgrade31.asp, similar to 2.0 to 3.0 upgrade script. It will create the Config table and add WinMe to the OSes table. Follow the guide for 2.0 to 3.0 upgrade for this as well.Upgrading from version 2.0 to 3.0 StatCounteX 3.0 database has changed a little bit, If you want to use your existing StatCounteX database (version 2.0), you need to ugrade it.I've made a upgrade script which will modify your old database. It will add the new queries into it, preserving your existing statistics data. 1. Open the zip file and extract the contents to a temporary folder. 2. Open config.asp and define your database location. (If you want to preserve your old settings, you need to change the new config.asp file according to your old settings as well.) 3. You should replace any files on your StatCounteX folder, except the .mdb file 4. Point your browser to upgrade.asp file to begin the database upgrade. NOTE: For experienced users: The upgrade simply creates four new queries in the database. You may see upgrade.asp for details.
